1 Year of CrossFit – CrossFit Lake Mary

1 Year of CrossFit

1 Year of CrossFit

I’ve been doing CrossFit for 1 year and many things have changed in my life…

I will always have fitness some way or another. I think this CrossFit thing though; I will be a part of for quite a while. I am very ADD with my life, 110% into this thing today, off onto another thing in a totally different direction tomorrow. I came to CrossFit from the powerlifting world where strength and moving weight is the name of the game. I loved it and did it for 6 years competing all over the nation in around 30 different meets. Got real strong and REAL big. I liked to think in a good way but the more I look back at photos and think back to my ability to do work, the more I have come to realize I was nowhere near being in shape. Strong as can be but not in shape. Joining CrossFit has fed my ADD personality with many avenues to travel whether it be strength, speed, endurance, gymnastics, you name it, it’s here. The thing I have been enjoying is trying to improve all of them at the same time. This task is turning into quite the chore. I can get strong but then my endurance suffers. I can run fast and jump high, but then I look like a bird. I want it all at once just like everyone does but this isn’t a perfect world and if it were easy, everyone could squat 500lbs and run a sub 6 minute mile while having abs and traps sticking out of their shirt.

CrossFit Lake Mary creates an environment that gives you the opportunity to take your fitness level anywhere you want to go. I am loving the direction I am getting from the coaches and can’t speak highly enough about them. Greg and Jen love what they do and are passionate about helping others. It is easy to go through the motions as a coach and not push everyone to their potential. For me, nothing is handed out in this world and that’s the environment at CFLM. You have to grit your teeth, dig down, and do the work. The nice thing is there is a team of coaches and members breathing down your neck pushing you, sometimes you want it, and sometimes you don’t. I can’t express my gratitude enough to this box and everyone that has helped me along the way. I have really taken my body to a level that i thought was not achievable. Thank you for the opportunity and for teaching me new things every day in a way of life that I love, a life of FITNESS.
