Not motivated to work out? 5 easy ways to get started!
You might find yourself saying…I really want to workout, but I don’t feel like it..
It’s hard to get started, I know…especially when you have been down and depressed because it’s all you think about and you can’t seem to make it happen, but here are some easy ways that will get you going!
#1 Get dressed! If you get dressed to do something you WILL! So put on those sneakers!
Now that I am dressed, let me get out the door….
Let me walk around the block….
I can jog a little….
Now didn’t that feel good?
Now, lets do it again tomorrow!
Consistency and getting into a routine is the easiest way to get started!
#2 Find something you used to love to do
Remember how good you felt when you played ball with your kids, or went for a swim, threw around that basketball outside, took that dance class, or walked the dog?
Do that NOW! Don’t think of it as exercise, think of it as time you spent having fun or relaxing!
#3 Try something new
If you open yourself up to new challenges, you might be surprised at the self confidence it gives you when you actually just do it! It can be as simple as Running a few blocks, playing a new sport like golf, tennis, or yoga, trying a new class at your local gym.
#4 Get support
Tell your family and friends what your up to! You will be surprised how much peer pressure and accountability will keep you going. Just like Goals…if you don’t write them down or tell someone your more likely to not follow through, so why should this be different? Who knows, they might be going through the same lack of motivation as you and need someone to lead them. Guess what happens then? Boom!!! A team!! Nothing better than that right?
#5 Keep going!!
